Millions Recovered for Injured Clients
Numbers tell a story. Attorney Albert Ng has recovered millions of dollars for his clients since founding Commonwealth Legal Group. That total includes a $2.2 million trial verdict in a rear-end collision case where the defense’s last settlement offer was $0. It also includes a $1 million recovery in a truck accident caused by an unsafe lane change, an $800,000 result in a slip and fall case against a restaurant, a $600,000 recovery against a rideshare company, and a $500,000 result for a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.
These outcomes didn’t happen because insurance companies felt generous. They happened because we build strong cases and refuse to accept less than what our clients deserve.

What Damages Are Recoverable in a Diamond Bar Personal Injury Case?
The word ‘damages’ in personal injury law means the money you’re entitled to because someone else’s negligence hurt you. California recognizes three types.
Economic damages are your verifiable financial losses. Hospital bills, surgery costs, prescription medication, physical therapy, lost wages during recovery, reduced earning capacity if you can’t return to the same work, and property damage. If your back injury requires spinal fusion surgery at $150,000, that number is recoverable. If you miss four months of work earning $6,000 a month, that’s $24,000 in lost wages. California does not cap economic damages.
Non-economic damages cover pain and suffering, emotional distress, loss of enjoyment of life, scarring and disfigurement, and loss of consortium. These losses don’t come with invoices, but they are real. A 28-year-old who can no longer run because of a shattered ankle has lost something concrete, and California law compensates for it.
Punitive damages are available when the defendant’s conduct was particularly egregious. Under Civil Code 3294, you can seek punitive damages by showing malice, oppression, or fraud by clear and convincing evidence. A drunk driver, a company that concealed a known safety defect, a landlord who deliberately ignored a dangerous condition, these scenarios can trigger punitive damages on top of compensatory recovery.
